The third and final book in this series, Allegiant, will be released Oct. 22nd. TIMES MAGAZINE #1 FICTION BOOK OF 2012 Many of you may have heard of this book in passing and it does live up to the tear-jerker name its earned. However, John Green adds whimsical humor to this love story dealing with teenage cancer patients as well. Hazel is a medical miracle as her cancer has stopped spreading; however her case is still terminal. She spends her days watching reality T.V. and reading her favorite book, The Imperial Affliction, over and over again trying to not think about what will become of her family and friends when her time comes. But then she meets Augustus, and he makes her reexamine her life. Maybe her "story" is about to change. This book is moving, hilarious, thought-provoking, brilliant! Definitely a must-read! Also, check out John Green's other successful books: Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, and An Abundance of Katherines. P.S. Be sure to check out this book when it comes to theaters in June 2014... Looking for a new book? View these trailers for a new book idea.. Seen any real good movies lately? Well, it may have been a book first. If you're one of those people that like to read a book before it comes out in film, you'll be busy for a while. Many great books have been turned into movies this year. Here are a few to check out:
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald The Host by Stephenie Meyer The Life of Pi by Yann Martel Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia The Hobbit by John Tolkien The SIlver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbowsky Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (Catching Fire coming soon) Imagine waking up in a box and not knowing where you are or WHO you are. That's what happens to Thomas. His memory is blank and he soon finds out he's not alone. When the box is open, he finds himself in an unknown place with a bunch of boys who call themselves the Gladers. They want answers, but all he can remember is that his name is Thomas without any recollection of where he came from. His new home is a large open space that is surrounded by stone walls that open for a few hours each day and close back up at night. On the otherside of the stone walls is a maze, that so far no one can beat. And to add to the weirdness, a new boy is delievered in the same box Thomas arrived in, every 30 days. This book is very suspenseful as Thomas tries to figure out what his role is within the Glade. He may be more important than they all know. And then the girl arrives in the box. The first girl to ever enter the Glade and she has a very suprising message... If you liked The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, you'll love this action-packed, suspense series by James Dashner. It was a trilogy series, but just recently he added a fourth book, The Kill Order, that serves as a prequel to all the others. I still recommend starting this series with The Maze Runner for the full page-turning experience. |
